·        Developed a C++ application with one other junior developer working with me. Mentored junior developer to become familiar with C++, and with the special areas of communication and multithreading.  This coding was performed in Microsoft’s Visual C++ development environment, using the Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC).

·        Enhanced smaller program to make it perform more functionality and provide a performance increase.

·        Provided analysis on the code

·        Developed application that sped up the performance of code, primarily through the application of spawning additional threads to better split the task.

·        In addition, was tasked with assisting the transition of version control from Microsoft SourceSafe to Rational’s Clearcase system. This involved maintaining the system, working with Rational representatives and consultants to help transition their system.

·        Also helped the client come up to speed on the management of the Clearcase system, and to help develop build processes and standards.

·        Worked with the development team to develop components of the J2EE infrastructure that was being developed, primarily using EJB, JSP and JDBC.

§         Compaq Computers: (August 2000 – December 2000)

·        Worked for a subsidiary spin-off company, Freeup.com.  Developed the system using J2EE technologies, in particular Java EJBs on the Weblogic Application Server, JSPs/Servlets, JDBC and XML integration.

·        Was placed in charge of teams that comprised 3 new developers and was tasked with selecting and working with the outside vendors, and integrate their products into the system.  Aided new developers through the task of selecting the correct partners, and then provide them with guidance in the correct way to integrate those services.

·        Assisted in making recommendations on vendors for the hardware and software that were to be used in the system.

·        Was in charge of making the changes to existing code base in C++, and supervised other developer, in order to achieve the tight deadlines. Task was additionally complicated by the sheer volume of work that eBay was doing on its code base. Required a high level of interaction with the schedulers and other developers to ensure that all the pieces would correctly integrate into the current product.

·        Additionally worked with build engineers in their transition from CVS to Rational’s Clearcase.  Provided the primary test bed and provided a high level of informative feedback and suggestions on the progress and problems during transition.
